SOW: Mimi Houndstooth Black & White

For today's SOW, I want to play dress up.  Only with this outfit, lets dress her down.  I'm sure you've seen that casual sequins are in; we are all over it with the Mimi Houndstooth Sequins Black & White!

This skirt is a medium-weight polyester fabric, good for all four seasons.  The Mimi is available in the classic and pencil style so be ready to show some curves!

To me, the hardest part about outfitting a casual sequin look is the shirt.  I went into this outfit knowing I would pair it with a jean jacket so I wanted a shirt with some color.  This teal sleeveless blouse I found is a great pick.  Leave it untucked to show the difference in length from the front to the back.  It will also look cute sticking out the back of the jean jacket.

For the accessories, I knew I wanted brown leather.  Black is immediately dressier so I stayed away from that.  I love the matte finish of the clutch.  The shirt I picked has a bib color so a necklace would clash.  Ordinarily, I would pick a statement necklace with a simpler neckline shirt.

This is a fun skirt, have a good time in it!

Shop Our Look!

It's no secret that we love Michael Stars.  Bright colors, staple silhouettes, and one size fits all?  What's not to love?  You can have one knockout outfit, without leaving our website!

In honor of St.Patrick's Day, I want to encourage you to 'Shop Our Look'!  Lets have a look, shall we?

To start, I searched for the perfect green skirt.  I call the Quilted Poly Kiwi a jackpot for St. Pat's Day.  Our outfit is completed with the Drape Neck Michael Stars Tank in Coral.  Sleeveless not your thing?  No problem, we have short sleeves and 3/4 length sleeves to accommodate; all in the fabulous coral!

Now I might have told a small lie.  You will have to go shoe shopping to have our exact look.  Skirts, shirts and ties is our thing!  Head on over to Steve Madden for the neutral rope espadrilles above!

SOW: Morning Dew

This weeks SOW has a whimsical feel to it.  Whimsical after all is defined as 'playfully quaint or fanciful'.  The Morning Dew is both quaint and fanciful.  This is a lightweight cotton with embroidered yellow threading with flecks of sheen to it.  It is casually feminine, and there is nothing I like more than being feminine.

You can go in a few directions with the Morning Dew.  First you can dress it up for a summer wedding.  Here in the middle I have it with an off white peplum sleeveless top.  Match that with the yellow or off white Seychelle heels and your ready for a night out.  I love it with the teal scarf from Anthropolgie.  I call this a non-functional fashion scarf.   Its here to keep you stylish, not warm ;)

It will also look great with the Liberty top from J.crew on the left.  Roll up the teal sleeves and throw on brown sandals for a casual outfit.  Last but not least, it always comes down to the chambray tops with me.  Tired of chambray tops in all of my outfits?  Too bad!  They look great with Sevier Skirts and are so in right now!  Wear with your riding boots that I know you have and your good well into the fall.

SOW: Water Bouquet

This weeks SOW is sure to put a pep in your step.  I chose the Water Bouquet due to its excellent color options and in style floral print.  This Water Bouquet is a light weight cotton.  A perk of this skirt?  It can be washed in the washing machine!

When choosing an outfit for this skirt I thought first, I want color.  Second, I want a light look (weight wise).  Third, I wanted an outfit that could look different based on how you styled the top.  I went with three long sleeve button downs.  

The coral top is silky and will look nice for  nice dinner out.  Pair with a denim jacket and heels for a hot date or flat coral strappy Steve Maddens for a girls night out.

The Yellow button down is actually a very small gingham print.  I think you should roll up the sleeves on this and un button a few buttons from the top.  With a fun bun, your looking adorable for your next cookout!

I love the mint top.  This is the ultimate fresh color.  Simply pair this with the brown strappy sandals for your next vacation or throw on the blazer, and brown flats and take this look to work.  In the summer time its nice to not be in black in the office.  You will put a smile on your coworkers faces with this fresh look.

You can mix and match every piece I have here.  Just a tip:  If you want to match the coral top with the coral jacket, which would be very cute, pick a neutral show to go with.

Celia Orange

To say this week's SOW is cheerful is an understatement!  The Celia Orange will be offered at a 20% discount for this week only!

The Celia Orange is a great skirt for summer time.  Its a light weight cotton with orange embroidered flowers with vertical orange stitching running throughout it making it very flattering.  I would definitely recommend this skirt in a swing.  I love the way this skirt falls.  Its drape is what attracted me to it in the first place.

I love the color of the Celia Orange for summer.  It's not seen every day and looks phenomenal with a tan.  I would suggest wearing navy with orange.  I love that color combo!  Turquoise looks amazing as well.  You can always go neutral with white or black and add color in jewelry instead!

SOW: Gingham Silver Sequins

This weeks SOW has some sparkle to it, and I'm not just talking about the 20% discount ;)  The Gingham Silver Sequins is a lightweight cotton white and gray gingham printed skirt with silver sequins sewn to it, giving it some extra flair.  The skirt is lined in all white cotton, making this your next go-to summer skirt, perfect for work and play.

So what to wear with the Silver Sequins?  EASY!  Treat this skirt as you would any black skirt or black pant you own.  Summer time is not the time to wear solid black, so swap that out for this gingham number.  Below I have three different looks for three separate occasions.  Top right: Picnic/cookout.   Left: Work/Dinner on the town.  Bottom: Classic black.

Gingham Silver by christinapostell featuring Stella & Dot bracelets

I used my new favorite jewelry company, Stella & Dot, to adorn these outfits.  My top right look is perfect for a picnic.  Black just won't do at a picnic so go more rustic with brown.  The silver on the bracelet ties in with the silver on the skirt.  The brown leather goes with the sandals and the coral sandals bring the top into the mix.  Precious!

To the left I have the perfect work outfit.  Purple looks dynamite with gray.  It is my favorite color combo so be sure to try it this season!
