Monochrome Mixed Prints!

Mixed prints can be intimidating.  In your head they’re a good idea.  Then you have your outfit on, and it’s a whole lot of look, maybe more than you were going for.  The next time you want to mix it up (pun intended), try it in monochrome!

Wild Side, Jungle Fever, Coco Dots Red
To begin, start with neutral colors like beige and gray.  It doesn’t even have to have a print to bring interest to your outfit.  Take the quilted beige jacket for instance.  This jacket gives another dimension to the outfit without adding another print.  Want a daring effect?  Go with a daring color, like red.

Have fun with it!

Casual Friday!

The weekend is within reach, just one more outfit and one more work day to get through before rest!  Instead of reaching for those jeans or khakis for your Casual Friday, go with a skirt instead.

Last night, I went to a Stella & Dot party and purchased a pair of eye-catching earrings that I can't wait to rock.  I am going to show you how I will be wearing those with my newest Sevier Skirt: Blockbuster Gold, as my casual go-to!
Casual Friday
Consider the Blockbuster Gold your new and improved khaki bottoms.  It's so easy to outfit if you keep that in mind.  I am going to pair it with my favorite royal blue blouse, much like the one above and my new Peacock Stella & Dot earrings.  A pair of brown riding boots complete this look dressy enough for the office, and chic enough for drinks afterward.

Have a great weekend!

Trend Report

Between work, family and friends its hard to stay in the know about issues that aren't priority.  Almost every worker involved in Sevier Skirts wears different hats from mom to chauffeur (for the kids!), to committee chair to CEO.  Its no wonder that you don't have time to stay on top of the latest trends.  Thats where I come in!

When Spring time hits, I am ready to get you dressed in florals, pinks and jewel tones.  It was to my surprise when I discovered the latest trend to hit the runway: Black & White.
Black&White
Now keep in mind the colors we are going for as I introduce you to a new term: color blocking.  Color Blocking is when you take multiple colors and put them together in a bold, geometric way.  The picture above to the left is an example of color blocking in the shift dress.  Try this trend with the Mimi Houndstooth Sequins.  Pair with our Michael Stars Ribbed Short Sleeve Crew-Black.  Voila, you have mastered color blocking!

SOW: Capital Hill Wool Tweed!!

It's cold out there!  Lets warm up in tweed.  The Capital Hill Wool Tweed that is.  This week only, snag this fall favorite at 20% off.  This is a heavy weight fabric.  Perfect for this time of year into those still cool early spring days.  This skirt is wearable in both a Pencil or Swing.

Do you want a straight look or a draping swing?  That's entirely up to you!  Oh how I love custom wear!
Sevier Skirts: Skirt of the Week
From my last blog entry, Im sure you gathered that I love black and brown together.  If you haven't read that, get caught up!  I styled this skirt with the black and brown theme.  A black top with a brown leather coat and boots gives you one put together look with the Capital Hill.  It's winter time so pair with black tights to stay warm!

If you want to wear color, go for it!  I love mustard, olive, burnt orange, brown,  and deep blues with this one.  In a casual setting, a jean jacket will go nicely with the tweed.  Speaking of settings, this skirt is great for work, church, dinners, you name it!

Original Price: $180
SOW Price: $144

Rock the Vote!

The day is finally here ladies...election day!  I am a first time voter and I have just returned from casting my vote with my 'I voted' sticker proudly displayed on my shirt!

Here at Sevier Skirts we would never want to sway your decision on who to vote for, only what outfit to wear to the polls!
Vote

On the left I went classy politicians wife in all neutrals.  To make this look patriotic you will need your American flag pin on your jacket.  Don't shy away from off white in the winter ladies, embrace this monochromatic color scheme in the Cathedral Ivory and this Michael Stars Long Sleeve Cowl top!  This look is good all winter long!

On the right we are going red, white and blue with the Nepal-Poppy and Michael Stars Long Sleeve Boat Neck Tee.  I love the rich, warm colors and abstract pattern mix.

I hope the lines aren't too long for you!  Happy Voting!
