SOW: Vivian Black!

The SOW this week is hot, hot, hot!  One of my favorite LBS'S (Little Black Skirts) is on sale 20% off this week only: Vivian Black!  This skirt is great all year round, especially for the holidays.

The Vivian is a medium-heavy weight fabric.  The base is a sturdy woven beige with black flocked zebra print on top.  Flocked basically means that it feels like velvet.  The Vivian is complete with a blind hem.  This baby was made for a straight style.  Be it Classic or Pencil, be ready to show some leg!

VIvian

Black and beige are the easiest colors to match.  I have it here with this orange silky blouse.  All colors are a go with this skirt: red, coral, blue, green, mustard, yellow, white, black, fuchsia, the list can go on and on!  This is a hot little number so I topped it off with this feisty jacket.

For the office, keep the blouse and add a blazer or cardigan and classic black pumps.

Eye on Fall!

We're in the middle of Summer, with our eye on Fall!  It's hard to think in 3 months we'll be bundled up in layers, but someone's got to think of the future!  We've got you covered with a sneak peek of our fall fabrics!

Its hard to get in a fall mindset when its 95 degrees out so I started with a little inspiration board to get the autumn juices flowing...
Sevier Fall
Now for the sneak peek!

My favorite!!!!!!

Now enough of this Fall talk, enjoy your summer and work on that tan!

Mother of Pearl

The beautiful weather this weekend, left me inspired to create a Spring outfit.  I needed the perfect skirt to go with pastel colors.  The Mother of Pearl was the first thing that popped in my head.  So with that, we offer you 20% off the Mother of Pearl this week!

The Mother of Pearl fabric is extremely unique.  This skirt isn't lace, and it isn't an eyelet.  It is a netted ivory base with medium scale polka dot motif that has a slight iridescent sheen giving this skirt a little shine!  This overlay rests on a light weight ivory cotton and finished in a silk ivory lining.

Mother of Pearl

I find ivory to be such an underestimated color.  It is so versatile.  I know what you're thinking, 'its basically off-white, of course it's versatile'.  I find ivory more versatile than white because it can be worn all year round.  Do you want to wear white when you are pale as paper in February?  Probably not.

To outfit the Mother of Pearl, I thought to myself, ' what would I wear on Easter Sunday?'  I then started searching for pastel blouses.  Nice, flowing tops that you can tuck into the skirt or leave untucked with a belt wrapped around.  Any color will do: pinks, yellows, purples, oranges, reds, greens, aquas, blues etc.  I went for this teal blouse with yellow egg like shapes on it.  When wearing in the winter, go for a dark contrast top like black to pair with it.

Keep your handbag and shoes neutral, and spring for a pop of color elsewhere in your outfit.  I picked coral earrings to set this look off!

STYLE TIP:  When wearing a form fitted skirt, opt for a less fitted top like a blouse or a peplum top.  On the other hand, when wearing a swing skirt, keep the top fitted!

Feb 14th: Get Your Flirt On!

I had too much fun making today's blog!  Last time, we saw what your steamy V-Day look would be.  Today, lets turn that hue from crimson to pink as we get into the Flirty V-Day Look.  The trick we need to remember here is that you can look pretty, cute and a bit of a flirt without looking like you shopped in your daughters closet.

Instead, shop in ours!  Today I picked my top two V-Day skirts for the Pretty In Pink look:  Charlotte's Web Lavender & Vivian- Coral.
Sevier Skirts Valentins
I love the way they are already styled!  The girls hit the nail on the head color- wise for the Vivian.  Pinks and greens are complimentary so this mint is a refreshing option for the coral.  If you don't have a mint top, go neutral.  Either way, wear nude pumps like the ones we have above!

The next skirt is one of my top 5 new favs!  The Charlotte's Web is classy, with beautiful ornate detailing.  She is perfect for Valentines.  Again, the girls styled her beautifully.  I love the off white blouse for every day of the year.  On Feb. 14th, try a pink top like the one I have above.  Go nude for the pumps!

Treat yourself to a trip to Sephora or Woo Cosmetics before the special day.  Your makeup can change your entire look.   For this flirty look, try some pinks!

SOW: Knit Houndstooth Black & Ivory

We've got a fresh one for this weeks SOW!  The Knit Houndstooth Black & Ivory is a brand spankin' new 2012 Fall Fabric and were giving it to you 20% off this week!  Buy online or at your next skirt party.

The Knit Houndstooth has a lot of stretch in it, and I mean a lot.  I recommend this skirt in a swing.  If you dress for comfort and style, this is your skirt.  It will hang beautifully on you.
Houndstooth

This skirt is incredibly easy to match.  It is black and Ivory so all colors besides a brown top go with it.  I love red with houndstooth so I picked a red jacket to go with the skirt above.

Aside from the look above, here is what I recommend for the Knit Houndstooth: white or black top (blouse or knit long sleeves) with a red or royal blue or another bold cardigan over top.

Hint: This weeks Game Day Look will be done with this skirt.  Can you guess which school its going to be?!

SOW: Amelia Black and White

September is finally here!  Not only is it the start of a new season, but Skirt Season has officially started as well!  To celebrate, we are discounting one of our top sellers this week for our SOW.  The Amelia Black and White is one hot commodity!  This is a light-medium weight black cotton with white flower appliqués embroidered onto it, giving it a great texture.
This skirt will easily be your go to all year round.  Summer time?  Pair it with flip flops.  Fall/Winter?  Strap on your favorite boots!

Amelia
Above I have it paired with loose blouses.  I love this look!  Wrap a belt around your true waist leaving the shirt tails tucked out of the skirt and you have yourself one heck of a look.  Another bonus of the Amelia?  The white flowers are stitched down with multi colored thread.  It pops against the white of the flowers leaving you with endless options to pair with it.  The colors include purple, yellow, green, pink, and orange.  Your color choices are endless!
This skirt is appropriate for so many occasions.  Church, work, dinners out, casual, semi formal, etc. etc.  Bottom line, this skirt is a knock out.  The Amelia is a Sevier Skirt Signature.  She is an eye catching fabric with tons of colors to pair with her.  Outfitting this skirt is going to be a breeze.  Now all you have to decide on is where to go in her!
