Your BEST boot style: Mid Calf

It's finally time for my favorite skirt accessory: BOOTS!!!  I wait all summer long to bust out my leg lengthening leather kicks.  From booties, to calf, to knee to over the knee, there are styles for every leg.   Boots can accentuate your best assests, they can hide your problem areas.  When worn incorrectly, they highlight problem ares.  Today, I am going to tackle the hardest boots in my opinion to wear: Calf Length Boots.
Q:Who should wear calf length boots?
A: Short girls with skinny calfs.

Calf length boots hit right at the widest part of your calf.  Where they hit, they accentuate.  If you love your calves, this is great for you.  If you don't, stay away from them.  Alternatively, if you have thin calves, where they hit will make your calves appear bigger.

Mid Calf Boots
Above I have three tips for calf-length boots.

1. The Cowboy Boot
Cowboy boots have a slight heel and pointy toe, perfect for lengthening the leg if you need extra height.  Have skinny calves?  A slouchy pair like the ones above give extra width to your calf.

2. The Biker Boot
Great for the Apple Shape body types and girls with small calves.  This boot cuts right across your calf giving it a wider look.  For the Apple Shape ladies, your legs need help standing out; a bulky boot is perfect for that!

3. Matching Tights & Boots

You have larger calves, but you want to wear mid-calf boots anyway.  First of all, you go girl!  Here's a tip to pull this off.  Whatever color your boots are, wear the same color tights.  The similar color tights will flow seamlessly to the boots, down to your toes not breaking up your look.  If you're short this is a great lengthening tip for you as well!

DON'T:  If you have wide calves, and want to wear calf-length boots, DO NOT shove them in jeans.  Just don't do it.  Wear a skirt or dress, and thank me later ;)

How WE wear white for fall!

Last week I explained why you SHOULD wear white after Labor Day.  Made up fashion rules are meant to be broken by those who can pull it off!  If you missed last weeks break-down, the only rules are keep the winter whites an appropriate fabric.  Thats it in a nut shell, now lets move on :)

As I was scrolling through Instagram (yes, we are on Instagram.  More on that later) I caught a picture of Ashley styling the Jax-White.  What an AMAZING look!!  It's the perfect example of correctly wearing white in the cooler months.
While we sold out of the Jax a season ago, another great option is the Naomi.  The white or ivory will work for this look.  I love the texture for fall, giving the look more substance than a thin cotton skirt.  Below, I re-created Ashley's look...
Wednesday Whites!
Gray peplum sweater+Naomi Ivory+Frye Boots+leather cuff=Effortless Fall!

With a solid white skirt, you can choose any color sweater up top.  I love the contrast of the sturdy riding boots with the feminine skirt.  You can wear this cozy outfit anywhere!

SOW: Corvina Burnt Orange!

Some skirts are made for work, some for play.  This weeks SOW is made to be worn out and shown off.  This hot number is whats missing from your next date.  The Corvina Burnt Orange is 20% off this week only.  Its not just the deal thats red hot!

This beautifully painted burnt orange velvet is a medium to heavyweight fabric, perfect for the cooler months.  The burnt orange/red backdrop is sultry and warm with a fresh lime and bronze playful paisley print pattern.  The Corvina comes in a Pencil and Classic.
Velvet Fall
I dressed the Corvina above for your next date night option.  The Corvina speaks loud enough for one outfit to handle.  No need to over-do it up top.  I suggest keeping the top simple with a black, ivory, white, brown, or other neutral color shirt.  I love the soft textured velvet with a contrasting smooth leather, so I went for a simple leather jacket.  Black and brown are two of my favorite colors to wear together so I picked mostly brown accessories to go with the black top.

Booties are all the rage this season.  To change it up, I picked this wooden stiletto heel bootie with a peep toe and buckle.  For any of the items above, click the icons below for pricing and further shopping!

SOW:Paper Lantern Black!!

This SOW is comfort and style at its best.  The Paper Lantern's are a great staple piece and this week the Paper Lantern Black is on sale 20% off!

I love the Paper Lanterns for their timeless appeal and soft comfort feel.  This Italian brocade has a little stretch to her making her perfect for a Pencil, Swing or Classic.  If you are buying for a casual get-around-town skirt, opt for a swing.  For work or a nice occasion, go for the straight styles!  I wore this skirt in a pencil during the sale and was stunned by its slim factor.  When cut for a pencil or classic, the lanterns run vertically, making you lean and long!
Sevier Skirt of the Week

I love the way the girls styled this one.  I went with their look, only I brought it into summer with this sleeveless kelly green blouse.  I love the pop of color.  When picking a top for this look, go for anything you would a black skirt.  Don't be afraid to mix it up with a coordinating print!

If you keep the top a solid color, try to incorporate a print somewhere.  I like this clutch by Liberty of London with a floral motif!

Game Day: Roll Tide!

From our SOW on Monday, I'm sure you could guess our Game Day look this week...

We're going to T Town with this look to cheer on the Crimson Tide!  All school's have their school colors to sport, but thanks to Bear Bryant, Bama has a school pattern as well.  How fashionable of them...
Game Day: Roll Tide!
The Knit Houndstooth is easy to match, especially in this case where all you need is a crimson top to complete this look.  Black or white will do with this skirt as well when getting in the school spirit.

Don't leave out the little man in your life...get him the Houndstooth Bow Tie!

I picked three other skirts as options for our Alabama customers:
The Paisley on Linen-Red is one of Suzanne's favorites.  This is a medium weight linen with red velvet applique.  This skirt is a year round skirt, good for the entire football season.  Wear white or black on top and your good to go!

The Cascade Black is a great staple this year.  This is a heavier weight skirt with a nice hand to it.  If you don't wear crimson a lot, this is the skirt for you!  For game day pair it with a crimson top and all of  the other days of the year pair with whatever you like.

The last is a fun option for game day.  The Bombay Red is a light weight cotton that is great from Spring till the beginning of fall!

Disclaimer:  I am an Auburn fan.  This blog post just about killed me.  I am being disowned by my family as I type!
