Skirt of the Week: Amelia Black and White

Happy Monday! To start the week off right we are offering our customers the Amelia Black and White Skirt at 20% off it's regular price.  Remember this is for online orders only and will be available until Sunday, March 16th.

We LOVE this skirt because it stands out amongst the crowd. It is a floral applique manufactured from one of the most elite French fabric houses.  The cotton is lightweight - however - could be worn year round.

Wanderlust Wednesday: Cruise Edition

To celebrate my birthday, this lucky girl (me) is going on a cruise.  Tomorrow I set off from Miami to Nassau with sunshine, salt water and fancy outfits in between.  To share my excitement with the ones I'm leaving behind, I thought a good ole' Wanderlust blog was due!

Apart from bikinis and wraps, I'm taking Sevier Skirts with me with the following cruise-worthy outfit.  I'm imagining bright colors against tan skin with a little shine.  Here is what I came up with...
Wanderlust-Cruise Edition
The Limeade Chevron Sequins is a fun pick for your dressier cruise nights.  Start with drinks on your personal deck followed by a three course meal, a little gambling at the casino and dancing late into the early morning.  Sound like a plan?  I thought so.

Red is green's complimentary color so I knew I wanted a bright red shade to go with this skirt.  I chose the always flattering coral to compliment this sequins get-up and a coral clutch to tie it all together.  With sexy stilettos you will be one hot number!

SOW: Wild Side Lavender!

Stand out at the office in something other than gray and black this year.  Pick up today's Skirt of the Week: Wild Side Lavender, and get noticed for that promotion!

The Wild Side is a medium weight polyester that is great for all year round.  This skirt has great structure to it making it perfect for a classic or pencil silhouette.  With this "wild" print, make sure to keep it professional for the office with a length no more than one and half inches above the knee.
Workin' Girl
I picked this wrap gray blouse to go with the Wild Side.  A shirt with an attached belt/tie makes it easy for your to get dressed in the morning with no belt decisions to make.  To finish off the look, I wanted a bold structured item so I went for a well tailored black blazer and then a muted look for your stems with nude heels.

Style Tip:  When dressing for the office, propriety is of the utmost importance!  The number one factor in work appropriate garb?  FABRIC!!!!!  Depending on the work place, keep shiny-silky looking fabrics for your going out clothes.  If it looks like the same fabric as your negligee, don't wear it to your nine to five!  I like the Wild Side for work because of the matte fabric and soft lavender.

SOW:Paper Lantern Black!!

This SOW is comfort and style at its best.  The Paper Lantern's are a great staple piece and this week the Paper Lantern Black is on sale 20% off!

I love the Paper Lanterns for their timeless appeal and soft comfort feel.  This Italian brocade has a little stretch to her making her perfect for a Pencil, Swing or Classic.  If you are buying for a casual get-around-town skirt, opt for a swing.  For work or a nice occasion, go for the straight styles!  I wore this skirt in a pencil during the sale and was stunned by its slim factor.  When cut for a pencil or classic, the lanterns run vertically, making you lean and long!
Sevier Skirt of the Week

I love the way the girls styled this one.  I went with their look, only I brought it into summer with this sleeveless kelly green blouse.  I love the pop of color.  When picking a top for this look, go for anything you would a black skirt.  Don't be afraid to mix it up with a coordinating print!

If you keep the top a solid color, try to incorporate a print somewhere.  I like this clutch by Liberty of London with a floral motif!

SOW: Coco Dots Red!

"Tumble outta bed
And stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition..."

You know where the rest of this song is going..."Workin' 9-5, whatta way to make a living"  As everyone knows, Dolly rules!!!!  That being said, she is the inspiration behind this weeks SOW:Coco Dots Red!  To me, this skirt is the perfect skirt to wear to your 9-5!  This skirt goes out to our working girls!

This is a medium weight cotton red skirt with white circular dots, finished with a blind hem.  She is perfect all year round!  This skirt comes in a pencil or standard style.  She has a lot of structure so she will keep you nice and tight, which is always a good thing(slimming factor)!

Sevier Skirts:Working Girl
I outfitted this skirt for a summer day at the office.  I love this royal blue sleeveless blouse.  The flowing drape of it is a nice contrast to this straight styled skirt.  To knock off the patriotic look(which is by no means a bad thing-USA!!!) I added this feminine floral blazer.  Blazer's have branched out from solid black, navy and khaki and I couldn't be more pleased!  A fun blazer like this is great for the work place or your social life.

There is the perfect hint of red to coordinate with the Coco Dots, but the real tie in here is the teal and orange necklace.  Pick a statement piece like that to tie two mixed prints together.

For a winter look, a black long sleeve blouse and black leather boots are the perfect touch for this work ready skirt.

SOW

SOW: Thomas Wool Plaid-Mustard & Gray

This weeks SOW is the Thomas Wool Plaid- Mustard & Gray!  This medium weight wool is great for the work place.  I don't see this plaid going out of style any time soon so you will get your money's worth with this one!
Thomas
I went for 'Preppy School Girl' with this look!  I love the rich colors so I paired this skirt with a warm red colored sweater.  The yellow in the jacket makes the yellow stripes pop in the skirt.

Other colors I would suggest with this skirt: plum, cream, white, black, brown and navy.  I hope you noticed that I finally completed one look without adding a chambray top!  Just for the record, a chambray top would be killer with this skirt!

I hope you ladies have a great start to your week!
