1 Skirt, 3 Ways!
What I look for in any piece I buy is versatility. If the piece is one occasion specific, I pass. With this thought, I took to the Sevier Closet to outfit 1 Skirt, 3 Ways! I took a staff season favorite: Avalon Brocade Azure, and went to work...
I love the way the girls have this looker styled. Sophistication at its best with this gray tucked in blouse and nude pumps. Throw on a gray blazer and head to your nine-to-five.
For a look to take out on the town, I went with this season's trend: leather. For a different spin on this trend, I went with colored leather. Orange is blues complimentary color, they are made for each other. With this in mind, pair the Avalon with orange in any hue. For fall, I went with burnt orange. Booties and a statement necklace is the perfect grab for a night out!
Back to my comfort zone with the Casual Saturday look. Michael Stars comfy Drape Neck-check. Go-to Saturday jean jacket-check. Everyday riding boots-check. Eazy breezy, go-to outfit. Love.

Your BEST boot style: Mid Calf
It's finally time for my favorite skirt accessory: BOOTS!!! I wait all summer long to bust out my leg lengthening leather kicks. From booties, to calf, to knee to over the knee, there are styles for every leg. Boots can accentuate your best assests, they can hide your problem areas. When worn incorrectly, they highlight problem ares. Today, I am going to tackle the hardest boots in my opinion to wear: Calf Length Boots.
Q:Who should wear calf length boots?
A: Short girls with skinny calfs.
Calf length boots hit right at the widest part of your calf. Where they hit, they accentuate. If you love your calves, this is great for you. If you don't, stay away from them. Alternatively, if you have thin calves, where they hit will make your calves appear bigger.
Above I have three tips for calf-length boots.
1. The Cowboy Boot
Cowboy boots have a slight heel and pointy toe, perfect for lengthening the leg if you need extra height. Have skinny calves? A slouchy pair like the ones above give extra width to your calf.
2. The Biker Boot
Great for the Apple Shape body types and girls with small calves. This boot cuts right across your calf giving it a wider look. For the Apple Shape ladies, your legs need help standing out; a bulky boot is perfect for that!
3. Matching Tights & Boots
You have larger calves, but you want to wear mid-calf boots anyway. First of all, you go girl! Here's a tip to pull this off. Whatever color your boots are, wear the same color tights. The similar color tights will flow seamlessly to the boots, down to your toes not breaking up your look. If you're short this is a great lengthening tip for you as well!
DON'T: If you have wide calves, and want to wear calf-length boots, DO NOT shove them in jeans. Just don't do it. Wear a skirt or dress, and thank me later ;)

How WE wear white for fall!
Last week I explained why you SHOULD wear white after Labor Day. Made up fashion rules are meant to be broken by those who can pull it off! If you missed last weeks break-down, the only rules are keep the winter whites an appropriate fabric. Thats it in a nut shell, now lets move on :)
As I was scrolling through Instagram (yes, we are on Instagram. More on that later) I caught a picture of Ashley styling the Jax-White. What an AMAZING look!! It's the perfect example of correctly wearing white in the cooler months.
While we sold out of the Jax a season ago, another great option is the Naomi. The white or ivory will work for this look. I love the texture for fall, giving the look more substance than a thin cotton skirt. Below, I re-created Ashley's look...
Gray peplum sweater+Naomi Ivory+Frye Boots+leather cuff=Effortless Fall!
With a solid white skirt, you can choose any color sweater up top. I love the contrast of the sturdy riding boots with the feminine skirt. You can wear this cozy outfit anywhere!

SOW: Willow Branch Navy!
Whether you're hitting the books, teaching a classroom or driving a child back to school, Fall shopping is upon us so its time for some Back-to-School looks! Summer fashions are on sale and the options for non-functioning boot sucks are all over Pinterest; let the layering begin!
To start this school year off right I went for an extremely wearable skirt. The Willow Branch Navy couldn't have been a better pick! This cotton/silk medium weight Swedish Brocade is the perfect alternative to your go-to denim. Good for all year round, this straight number classic will never go out of style!
The Willow Branch comes in the Pencil and the Classic. Like one of my fashion tips from last week said, if you're wearing structured, tighter bottoms, keep the top flowing and not tight. For going out, try the way we have our model dressed on the website here!
I have her dressed in this scholarly number. This winter, go for a cable knit sweater. The chunkier the better. With a colored shirt underneath and tails untucked, you have a smart look that will turn some heads. Finish this look off with wide calf riding boots and instantly look 5 lbs. smaller!
For other outfit options, treat the Willow Branch Navy like your favorite pair or blue jeans. Any color solid top goes!

SOW: Leanna Embroidery Sunset
Today's SOW is going to get you through Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The Leanna Embroidery Sunset is 20% off this week through Sunday!
This embroidered skirt is a medium weight polyester linen available in all three styles. You can't go wrong with any style, so pick your favorite on this one. The warm color palette is rich with orange, red, maroon, yellow and green. Don't let this autumn backdrop fool you, this skirts material is summer appropriate as well!
This skirt has so much to offer. Linen base, with multi colored embroidered floral patterns. No need to doll it up anymore so keep it simple with a Michael Stars solid. For the warmer months, I picked this quarter length number and wedge sandals. For the cooler months wrap a scarf around this long sleeve boat neck, and top it off with your favorite pair of worn in riding boots! I can imagine the layers now ;)
Happy Monday!
