SOW: Charlotte's Web Black

Wake up your fashion buds with a classic fabric in a fresh way.  This is not your grandma's lace!  This weeks SOW is the Charlotte's Web Black!

Unlike regular lace patterns, this fabric contains ivory, silver and black lurex infused in a web-like pattern over a black cotton base.  This skirt is lightweight and year round-always a bonus!

Above, I have the Charlotte's Web dressed for work and then happy hour after.  Unless you've been living under a rock, you know leather details are in so I went with this leather sleeved top from J. Crew to go with.  This boxy dressed up tee is a nice contrast to the feminine skirt beneath.  For a pop of color, go with a bright jacket!

Want a casual look?  With a pair of tall boots and chambray shirt you will be good to go.  For church, wedding or a nicer occasion, heels and a blouse are a refined look to go with.

How WE wear white for fall!

Last week I explained why you SHOULD wear white after Labor Day.  Made up fashion rules are meant to be broken by those who can pull it off!  If you missed last weeks break-down, the only rules are keep the winter whites an appropriate fabric.  Thats it in a nut shell, now lets move on :)

As I was scrolling through Instagram (yes, we are on Instagram.  More on that later) I caught a picture of Ashley styling the Jax-White.  What an AMAZING look!!  It's the perfect example of correctly wearing white in the cooler months.

While we sold out of the Jax a season ago, another great option is the Naomi.  The white or ivory will work for this look.  I love the texture for fall, giving the look more substance than a thin cotton skirt.  Below, I re-created Ashley's look...
